1) Clear History and Cache:-

Whenever you surf the internet using Google Chrome, it saves your browsing history and cache files. These files are stored in the system memory. If you do not clear these files on regular intervals, it will make your browser slow.
To clear the Browsing History of Google Chrome, you have to click on the three horizontal bars in the top right of the browser. These will open Settings drop down menu. Now, click on Settings > History. You can see the entire browsing history. Select the option “The Beginning of Time” and tick the option of History, cache and cookies. After that, clear the history.

2) Disable Unused Extensions:-

Google Chrome comes with many useful extension programs. Such extensions add additional features to the browser. But, if you install many extensions in chrome and don’t even use them, then you should immediately remove them.  Unused extension can easily eat most of the system memory and make google chrome slower.
To remove unused extensions, you have to click on three horizontal bars on the top right of the chrome, known as ‘Customize and Control Google Chrome’ Button. Now, in Dropdown menu, you have to click on ‘Extensions’. Now, you’ll see the installed extensions. Click the unwanted extension and remove it by clicking on ‘Dustbin’ icon.

3) Tweak Secret Settings:-

Chrome comes with a bunch of secret experimental settings. These settings are known as ‘Flags’ settings. You just have to enter “Chrome://flags” (without Quotes) as URL and hit enter. The Secret settings page will open. The secret page is made for experimental features, which can break the browser or make it disappear, if configured incorrectly. So, be careful while tweaking them.

i)    First of all, click ‘CTRL+F’ to find ‘Maximum tiles’ field. You have to modify the value of this field to ‘512’.
ii)    Now, find the option, ‘Number of Raster Threads’ and change the value from the default to ‘4’.
iii)    Now find ‘Fast Tab/Windows Close’. You have to enable this feature, to make your windows or tabs to exit quickly.
iv)    If your internet disconnects more than often, then you have to enable ‘Offline Cache Mode’ from Flags page.
