Recently, Microsoft has launched their newest operating system, Windows 10. The Windows 10 is being installed on many computers, because it is available at free of cost for every old Windows OS user. If you are thinking to upgrade your PC to Windows 10 or have upgraded already, then there are 10 basic, yet important things to do with your PC. 1) Check Windows Updates:-
The Microsoft team always sends Security updates and bug fixes to Windows OS Users. The Windows 10 users are no exception to this. They get updates on a regular basis to fix regular problems. If you have installed Windows 10 few minutes ago, it is highly advised to check for windows updates. The newly rolled out updates may have the solution for the problem and some security patches.
2) Check Action Centre Area:-
In the Action Centre Area, you can check out the important notifications. Once you complete the Windows 10 installation process, you should check for the important notifications, which should be checked immediately.
You can find many important notifications like Windows Update notifications, Microsoft Malware service notifications and many others.
3) Personalize Windows 10 Appearance:-
The Windows 10 is a highly customizable operating system. You can change the look of your Windows 10 screen. To do so, you have to perform “Right-Click” anywhere in the empty part of the screen and choose the “Personalize” option. Now, you can change the Color of the screen, change the Lock screen, change wallpapers and change the themes.
4) Start and Update Windows Defender:-
The Windows Defender software is an inbuilt anti-virus and anti-malware security option for Windows PC’s. This software will continuously keep an eye for external harmful malware, spyware and viruses. Once you finish the Windows 10 installation, search for “Windows Defender” and check if it is running. Also, you should check if it has new updates pending or it is up-to-date. If it has any pending updates, then immediately update it.
5) Set-up Cortana:-
Microsoft added its intelligent voice assistant” Cortana” in Windows 10. Cortana can assist you in using Windows 10 and accessing important features. You can setup Cortana by clicking on the Search Box on the task bar. After clicking, you can enable or disable the Cortana.
6) Remove Old Windows Installation:-
If you upgraded from an old version of Windows to Windows 10, then you there will be an old installation of windows stored in the system. Every time when you upgrade your Windows OS, it automatically saves Old OS Backups. You can remove the old installation via “Disk Cleanup” option.
7) Rollback to Previous Version:-
If you are facing any problem with Windows 10, then rolling back to a previous version of windows is always better. To rollback to the previous version, you must have upgraded from it and the old installation data should not be deleted. Just go to Settings > Update and Recovery > Rollback. It will start rolling out to a previous build of windows.
8) Set up default apps:-
Once you install Windows 10, it will come with its own softwares to run specific file extensions. You can over-ride the default setting and change the default apps to open certain file types. To change it, you have to go to Settings > System > Default Apps and change the apps.

So, once you finish installing Windows 10, you should perform above things and make your PC run smooth without any problem. Following above tricks and tips will make your Windows 10 installation more stable and secure.
